A performance assessment conducted by the Federal Government of Somalia has ranked the Ministry of Fisheries and Blue Economy among the top-performing ministries in the economic sector. The Ministry achieved an overall performance score of 76.4%, securing second place among the 12 ministries assessed.

The Ministry continues to advance sustainable fisheries management and support the development of fishing communities as part of broader efforts to promote blue economy growth.

Four ministries received a “Very Good” performance rating:

  1. Ministry of Finance — 83.8%
  2. Ministry of Fisheries and Blue Economy — 76.4%
  3. Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development — 76.3%
  4. Ministry of Public Works, Reconstruction and Housing — 76.2%

 

Collectively, the 12 assessed ministries are implementing major economic-sector commitments, including 145 initiatives, 2,699 activities, 595 milestones, and 178 key performance indicators (KPIs).
